Mon, Tue and Fri 10:00 am to 11:30 am, enjoy a volunteer lead tour of Maui Nui Botanical Gardens (150 Kanaloa Avenue, Kahului). Tours cover the natural history, conservation and ethnobotanical uses of native Hawaiian and Polynesian introduced plants as well as the Gardens' projects in these areas. Learn the names of the fish you've seen while snorkeling with the help of a knowledgeable Pacific Whale Foundation naturalist at Pacific Whale Foundation's free Coral Reef Information Station. A great place to visit if you're new to snorkeling in Hawaii. Learn how you can help protect the reef as you explore it! Sponsored by the Hawaii Tourism Authority. Meet at Haleakala National Park campground at 8:00 am. Learn the protocol, count and size 'opihi, and note all other species. Bring lunch, water, tabbies, gloves, hat, sunscreen, and towel. 'Opihi surveys blend Hawaiian and scientific methods to help us care for our marine resources. These activities are being conducted as part of the Kipahulu Ohana's overall moku management strategies with the ocean as an important part of the 'ahupua'a. We'll also discuss the interconnection between land and marine resources and future plans for community-based marine management in Kipahulu.

Australia stamped its dominance on international paddleboard racing in 2007, swamping an international field of more than 70 paddlers to take top places in the 32-mile Quiksilver Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard Race. Considered to be the world championship of long distance paddleboard racing, this year promises to be an event you won't want to miss. Starting at Kaluakoi Beach on Molokai at 7:00am and finishing at Maunaloa Bay, Oahu around 12:30 pm.
